Arne started as an engineer back in -85 and have done many albums over the years. Today he works with classical producer and pianist Jiri Hlinka and classical conductor and composer Espen Selvik producing classical records at Troll Classics and Jiri Hlinka Grand Piano Academy. Arne has a long experience from a varity of different music genres and styles.

Arne is a founder and co-owner of Troll Studio and known for his dedication and enthusiasm for sound and music. Studio recording and sessions have involved people such as: John Martyn, Dick Gaughan, Fish, Barry Gibb, Julia Fordham, Raf Ravenscroft, Jethro Tull, Andy Shepherd, Phil Cunningham, Dave Knopfler, The Cheaters, Mick Ralphs (Bad Company), Simon Kirk (Free), Savourna Stevenson, Clive Gregson, Danny Thompson, Sam Brown, Diane Dufresne, The Mac Band, Peter Nardini, Tam White and Jerry Donahue.

As a frequent member of the House Band for the 'BBC Hogmany Show', Foss has accompanied many artists including; Eddie Reader, Midge Ure, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Brady, Rosanne Cash and Liberty X to name but a few. Member of the Musician's Union band performing as an instructive unit within music colleges and schools.

As a songwriter Foss has had tracks covered by John Martyn, Spyro Gyra, Fish and Kenny Thomas, whose version of the track, 'Piece by Piece', was released as a single reaching the UK charts as well as in numerous other territories. This song was also chosen as the title track for a John Martyn album on Island Records to mark John's 25th year in the music business.

ALAN THOMSON: BASS, GUITAR, KEYBOARDS & BACKING VOCALS

Starting out playing guitar for The Arthur Trout Band (1976 - 1980), he then switched to Fretless Bass and was invited to join The John Martyn Band[1] with whom he toured for over 19 years until John Martyn's death in 2009.

Alan played keyboards with Scottish Band Strangeways (1984 - 1986). Other collaborations in the 80's included touring with Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler and recording with The Mighty Wah.
While working with Yahama, a meeting with Jerry Donaghue (Hellecasters, Fairport Convention) led to Alan joining the Backroom Boys along with Doug Morter and a subsequent invite to join the Hellecasters in 1987, and then to touring with John Jorgenson's Electric Band [2](1997 - present). In 1998, an offshoot from "The Backroom Boys" gave birth to "Then Came The Wheel"[3] which continues to tour UK, Scandinavia and Ireland.

He has toured with Canadian guitarist Amos Garrett, backed US guitar player Brent Mason, guitar legend Hank Marvin and made several tours of Europe with Blues legend Long John Baldry. He has recorded with Dick Gaughan, Sally Barker, Maggie Reilly, Nigel H Seymour, Shonu Das and Frank O' Hagan.

He has also worked with former Wings and Moody Blues star Denny Laine[4] (2008-2009), toured and recorded with Rick Wakeman in both duo and band formats from 1989-2004, recorded and toured with Julia Fordham, Carol Decker, and guitarist Andy Summers, and has songwriting credits with Robert Palmer, John Martyn, Sally Barker, Rev Doc and The Congregation, The Backroom Boys and Then Came The Wheel.

He currently tours and records with Jacqui McShee's Pentangle (since 1997), John Jorgenson's Electric Band, Rev Doc and The Congregation and Then Came The Wheel.
ARRAN AHMUN: DRUMS & PERCUSSION

Arran Ahmun was born in Cardiff. He started playing drums at the age of 16 and turned pro at 19 while working the American bases in Germany. He also worked with ‘house bands’ and sessioned in the film/TV world through ITV.

After working with ANDY FAIRWEATHER LOW, Arran moved to London and spent two years playing in West end shows. Following this, he joined the DAVE KNOPFLER BAND recording and touring Europe then spent some time recording with SQUEEZE.

He also performed regularly on the JOOLS HOLLAND, 'Happening' series. In 87 Arran recorded with CLANNAD and did two world tours with the band. Around this time he joined JULIA FORDHAM recording and touring her album Porcelain.

The late 80's saw Arran touring with ANDY SUMMERS in the USA followed by a spell touring and recording with GERRY RAFFERTY. In 86 Arran began a long and continuing association with JOHN MARTYN joining his band for the 'Piece by Piece' tour. He has played on almost everything John has recorded since then.

Throughout the 90's Arran continued extensive touring and recording with artists such as ALISON MOYET, LINDA LEWIS, THE WATERBOYS, THE PROCLAIMERS (including two No. 1 hits), ROBBIE ROBERTSON and the JOOLS HOLLAND BIG BAND. Arran has worked with RHIAN BENSON and ANGIE STONE. Arran continued to work with JOHN MARTYN until his death in January 2009. He's currently involved with numerous projects with artists such as LEIGHTON JONES, ZERVAS & PEPPER and more recently THE PETH.

He also works as a drummer for the Australian Pink Floyd Tribute band

DOUG MORTER
Producer, guitarist and vocalist

Doug Morter launched his music career in 1969, playing with Hunter Muskett, David Bowie, and went on his first major tour supporting Ralph McTell. Following, he had many gigs in UK and Europe, with major tours supporting Jethro Tull, Joan Armatrading, Elkie Brooks, Richard Thompson, Supertramp, Sutherland Brothers, Kinks, and Steeleye Span.

After playing with Richard, Doug recorded and toured as part of the Maddy Prior Band, and as part of the Michael Chapman Band, and, in 1979, went on his first tour as part of the Albion Band. Doug then joined Magna Carta full time in 1980, after guesting on an earlier record.

After three albums and a lot of foreign tours, Doug left in 1983 to re-join the Albion Band until 1985/6. In 1985, after releasing his first solo record, Doug started recording the first of two records with guitar virtuoso Jerry Donahue, which became the basis for The Backroom Boys, which still exists and tours whenever schedules permits. Doug is presently working with: Then Came The Wheel, his collaboration with Alan Thomson, Arran Ahmun, from John Martyn’s band, and Foster Paterson from Donnie Munro’s band, "Celtic Blues" with Jens Falck, Paul Burgess of 10CC, and Alan Thomson, and a new project featuring the collaboration of some of folk's greatest legends called The Gathering.














MIKE GALLAHER
Bass & Guitars

Growing up in Baltimore, USA, Mike played in bands all around the world touring with artists like Joe Cocker, Leon Russel, Delbert McClinton, Bebe Winans, Adrian Belew and Pat Boone. Mike has been recording in Nashville, and have done many albums over the years.
